Our Layered Mushroom wall shelf combines natural design with practical function: The flat, layered shape of the mushroom offers more storage space than our other mushroom shelf designs, making it particularly suitable as a floating bookshelf or plant shelf.

The Layered Mushroom is our most versatile mushroom wall shelf: In the living room, it serves as an elegant decorative shelf, in the hallway as a practical storage for keys, and in the office as an organizer for small items. Its elongated shape also makes it the perfect wall shelf for narrow walls.

Material: Sustainable PLA (bioplastic from corn starch), 3D printed and hand-finished in Heidelberg. 

Tip: Several Layered Mushrooms arranged one above the other create a beautiful shelving system. Combine different colors for a special effect!

• M: 19 x 6 x 10 cm (W x D x H) Compact and perfect for small decorative objects, keys, or a succulent. The flat shape also fits into narrow niches.
• L: 24 x 7 x 12 cm (W x D x H) The golden mean. Enough space for a small book, a plant, or your favorite decorative item.
• XL: 30 x 9 x 16 cm (W x D x H) The large statement shelf. Space for books, larger plants, or multiple decorative pieces. The wide shelf surface is ideal for presentation.

What is your mushroom shelf made of?

Our layered mushroom wall shelf is made from PLA (Polylactide) – a bioplastic derived from corn starch. Unlike conventional petroleum-based plastics, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Good for your home, better for our planet.

What makes our process special:

• Each shelf is created through 3D printing in our own factory in Heidelberg – not a mass-produced item from the Far East, but genuine craftsmanship from Germany.
• After printing, each piece is hand-sanded and quality-checked. Small differences in the surface are intentional – they make each shelf unique.
• PLA is robust and durable – your mushroom shelf can easily hold books, plants, and decor.
• Easy to care for: Simply wipe with a damp cloth. No special cleaning agents needed.

Note: PLA is splash-proof but not suitable for wet rooms (bathroom) or outdoor use. Do not put in the dishwasher or clean with hot water, as PLA can soften at temperatures above 60°C.

Installation – It's that easy:

Option 1: With drilling (recommended, most stable)

1. Mark the position on the wall – the mount serves as a template.
2. Drill two holes and insert the wall plugs.
3. Screw the invisible mount firmly in place.
4. Slide the shelf onto the mount – done!

Time required: approx. 2 minutes.

Option 2: Without drilling (ideal for rented apartments)

1. Use strong mounting adhesive (e.g., Pattex Mounting Adhesive, not included).
2. Apply adhesive to the back of the mount.
3. Press firmly for 30 seconds, then let dry for 24 hours.

Note: For heavy items (over 2 kg), we recommend mounting with screws and wall plugs.

Pro tip: Hang the shelves in different sizes slightly offset – like mushrooms growing naturally on a tree trunk. A group of 3 mushrooms (XL + M + M) is an absolute eye-catcher!

Isn't the fly agaric too childish for my living room?

Many of our customers thought so – until they had it on their wall! In elegant colors like black, white, or beige, the Amanita mushroom looks surprisingly modern and stylish. Above the sofa, next to the bookshelf, or as a plant shelf in the hallway – it seamlessly integrates into adult interiors. The playful colors (pink-black, blue-green) are perfect for children's rooms. So you have the choice: elegant or playful – but never boring.

How much weight can each shelf hold?

More than you think! Depending on the size:

• Size M: up to approx. 5 kg – perfect for candles, small plants, decorative objects
• Size L: up to approx. 8 kg – holds books, picture frames, and larger plants
• Size XL: up to approx. 12 kg – even heavy stacks of books or large plant pots

With the included screw-and-dowel mounting, the shelf holds rock solid. Many of our customers use it as a plant shelf – and even the largest Monstera cutting sits securely.

How do I attach the decorative wall shelf to the wall?

Child's play! You'll need a maximum of 2 minutes: hold the bracket as a template, drill two holes, insert dowels, screw the bracket in place, attach the shelf – done.

Screws and dowels are included. Don't want to drill? No problem – with mounting adhesive (e.g., Pattex), it works without holes in the wall. Ideal for rented apartments

What exactly do I receive?

You receive everything you need for assembly:

• 1× Amanita mushroom wall shelf in your desired color and size,
• 1× invisible wall mount (which creates the floating effect)
• 2× screws + 2× dowels and an illustrated assembly guide.

You only need a drill – or alternatively mounting adhesive if you don't want to drill.

Can I hang the shelf without drilling?

Yes! Simply use strong mounting adhesive (e.g., Pattex mounting adhesive, not included). Apply adhesive to the back of the bracket, press firmly for 30 seconds, and let it dry for 24 hours. For light decorations like small plants, candles, or decorative objects, this holds perfectly. For heavier items (from approx. 2 kg), we recommend screw mounting – which is just as easy and holds rock solid.
