Tip: Unsure about the size? For dining tables up to 90 cm wide, the L is a perfect fit. For larger tables or as a living room statement, choose the XL!

What is your Nuvia lampshade made of?

Your Nuvia lampshade is made of PLA (polylactide) – a bioplastic derived from corn starch. Unlike conventional plastics made from petroleum, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Good for your home, better for our planet.

What makes our process special:

• Every Nuvia lampshade is 3D printed in our own manufactory in Heidelberg – not a mass-produced item, but genuine craftsmanship from Germany
• The elegantly curved structure is built layer by layer – making each shade a unique piece with its own character
• After printing, each piece is hand-finished and quality checked. The flowing lines must interlock perfectly – for a harmonious light pattern
• PLA is lightweight, robust, and durable – your Nuvia will accompany you for years
• Minimal material waste: Precise 3D printing results in almost no offcuts
• 7 colors – all made from the same sustainable PLA: solid-colored without painting or coating

Care instructions:

• Simply dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents
• Do not clean in the dishwasher
• Do not heat above 60°C (therefore, only use LED light sources!)

Note: PLA is splash-proof, but not suitable for wet rooms (bathroom) or outdoor areas.

Installation – It's that easy:

• Step 1: Hang the pendant lamp holder in the desired location (ceiling hook or existing ceiling mount)
• Step 2: Place the Nuvia lampshade onto the E27 socket from below
• Step 3: Tighten the socket ring to secure the shade
• Step 4: Screw in an LED bulb (max. 15W, E27) – done!

Time required: approx. 2 minutes. Really that simple!

Important:

• Use only LED light bulbs (max. 15W, E27) – incandescent and halogen bulbs generate too much heat!
• The included HEMMA lamp holder fits any standard ceiling connection
• If you already have an E27 pendant lamp holder, you can mount the shade directly onto it

Pro Tip:

For the most beautiful lighting atmosphere, we recommend a warm white LED (2700K). The gentle shadows of the curved shape will appear particularly soft and cozy – perfect for dinner parties and relaxed evenings!

Does the Nuvia lampshade fit my existing lamp?

Yes, the Nuvia lampshade fits any standard E27 pendant lamp holder with a screw ring! If you don't have one yet – no problem: A HEMMA lamp holder (IKEA compatible) with cable and ceiling mount is included. So all you need is an LED bulb (E27, max. 15W) and you're ready to go. Installation takes just 2 minutes – plug it in, tighten the screw ring, done!

Which light bulb is best suited for the Nuvia lampshade?

We recommend a warm white LED bulb with an E27 base and a maximum of 15 watts. For cozy, warm light, choose 2700K – this will bring out the gentle curved shadow lines beautifully. For more neutral light (e.g., in the kitchen), 4000K is suitable. Tip: A dimmable LED bulb gives you full control over the mood – from dinner ambiance to task lighting! Important: Only use LED bulbs! Incandescent and halogen lamps generate too much heat for the PLA material.
