Compatibility: Standard E27 pendant fitting required. A HEMMA fitting (IKEA) is included. Only suitable for LED bulbs (max. 15W, E27). Not compatible with incandescent or halogen lamps.

Material: Sustainable PLA made from corn starch, handcrafted in Heidelberg.

Bubble Lampshade – Available Sizes:

• M: 25 × 25 × 18 cm (Diameter × Height) – The compact eye-catcher. Perfect for the hallway, above the bedside table, or as accent lighting in a reading nook. Weight: approx. 250 g.
• L: 30 × 30 × 21 cm (Diameter × Height) – The golden mean. Ideal above a dining table for 2–4 people, in the kitchen, or in the bedroom. Our best-selling size! Weight: approx. 380 g.
•  XL: 35 × 35 × 26 cm (Diameter × Height) – The statement piece. Impressive above a large dining table, in the living room, or as a central design element. Weight: approx. 490 g.

All dimensions are external measurements of the lampshade.

• Not compatible with incandescent or halogen bulbs (heat generation!)

Tip: Unsure about the size? As a rule of thumb, the lampshade should be about 1/3 of the table width. For a 90 cm dining table, the L size fits perfectly!

What is your Bubble Lampshade made of?

Your Bubble Lampshade is made from PLA (Polylactide) – a bioplastic derived from corn starch. Unlike conventional petroleum-based plastics, PLA has a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Good for your home, better for our planet.

What's special about our process:

• Each Bubble Lampshade is 3D printed in our own manufactory in Heidelberg – not a mass-produced item, but genuine craftsmanship from Germany
• The unique bubble structure is built layer by layer – making each shade a unique piece with its own character
• After printing, each piece is hand-finished and quality-checked. Small differences in the surface are intentional – like with a handcrafted design object
• PLA is lightweight, robust, and durable – your Bubble will accompany you for years
• Minimal material waste: Precise 3D printing results in hardly any offcuts

Care instructions:

• Simply dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents
• Do not clean in the dishwasher
• Do not heat above 60°C (therefore only use LED light sources!)

Note: PLA is splash-proof, but not suitable for wet rooms (bathroom) or outdoor use.

Installation – It's that easy:

• Step 1: Hang the pendant lamp holder in the desired place (ceiling hook or existing ceiling mount)
• Step 2: Place the Bubble Lampshade onto the E27 lamp holder from below
• Step 3: Tighten the lamp shade ring to secure the shade
• Step 4: Screw in an LED bulb (max. 15W, E27) – done!

Time required: approx. 2 minutes. Really that simple!

• Only use LED bulbs (max. 15W, E27) – incandescent and halogen lamps generate too much heat!
• The included HEMMA lamp holder fits any standard ceiling connection
• If you already have an E27 pendant lamp holder, you can mount the shade directly onto it

Pro Tip:
For the most impressive lighting effect, we recommend a warm white LED (2700K). This will make the play of light from the bubble structure especially cozy!

Does the Bubble lampshade fit my existing light fixture?

Yes, the Bubble lampshade fits any standard E27 pendant fitting with a screw ring! If you don't have one yet – no problem: an HEMMA fitting (IKEA compatible) with cable and ceiling rose is included. So all you need is an LED bulb (E27, max. 15W) and you can get started right away. Installation takes only 2 minutes – simply attach, tighten the fitting ring, and you're done!

Which light bulb is best suited for the Bubble lampshade?

We recommend a warm white LED bulb with an E27 base and a maximum of 15 watts. For cozy, warm light, choose 2700K – this will bring out the bubble structure particularly beautifully. For more neutral light (e.g., in the kitchen), 4000K is suitable. Important: Only use LED light bulbs! Incandescent and halogen lamps generate too much heat for the PLA material.

What is the difference between the Bubble and Bubble Gum lampshades?

Good question! The Bubble has smaller, more organic bubbles – it looks more elegant and suits almost any interior style. The Bubble Gum has larger, more playful spheres with a casual boho charm. In short: Bubble = elegant and versatile, Bubble Gum = playful and eye-catching. Both are beautiful – it depends on your personal style!
